We have 3 catering options:

Pick It Up Yourself:

Order your BBQ beforehand and pick it up at our location at 3035 Washtenaw in Ann Arbor.

Have It Delivered (Minimum Order of $200):

Our Meat-Mobile can bring the Q to you if you live in the Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti area. But call now: our delivery schedule fills up quickly!

Full Service Catering:

The charge for this service is $300 (subject to change based on the size and complexity of the event.) For this, we will (1) bring the food to the site, (2) set up a buffet with chafing dishes which will keep everything warm and delicious, and (3) have a staff member on-site for up to 4 hours to keep the buffet replenished and clean up afterwards.

One More Thing:

A 10% gratuity is added for all delivery and catering orders.

Figuring It All Out

At Satchel’s we try to make things easy, “Don’t Overthink It” is our motto.  So here is a simple step-by-step explanation for how to get some good old-fashioned southern BBQ to your party.

What To Order

Decide what you want to serve. Here is a link to our online store which lists all our menu items and current pricing. Got allergies? Click here for allergen information. Interested in seeing our Nutrition Facts….. here they are! OK, that’s enough of these “here” links.

One more thing to consider when selecting a menu. VEGETARIANS! They are out there, and the truth is…some of them may show up at your event. Luckily, the following items contain no meat or meat by-product:

  • Mac-And-Cheese

  • Red-Beans-And-Rice (actually, it’s vegan!)

  • Potato Salad

  • Cole Slaw (our mayo slaw is vegetarian and our vinegar slaw is vegan)

  • Cornbread

Also, we get a lot of questions about gluten. Good news! All of our meats and sauces are gluten-free.

How Much?

Then, figure out how much of this fabulous BBQ you need for your event. A good rule of thumb is to have 1/3 lb. of meat and two sides for each person at your event. So for a party of 30 you might want to have 10 lbs. of meat with 60 servings of sides. We might adjust these amounts based on a number of factors such as….(1) folks tend to eat a bit more at dinner than at lunch, (2) men tend to eat a it more than women, (3) the very young and the elderly tend to eat less than the rest of us.

You can throw in some starch (cornbread or sandwich buns) if you want to round out the menu, but remember that lots of folks don’t want to “spend their calories” on a starch—they prefer to have a larger portion of meat instead (to which I say, “God bless those people!”) A good rule of thumb is to have one type of starch (either a bun or a piece of cornbread) per person.

Which Delivery Option?

Decide whether you want to pick it up yourself, have it delivered, or have full service catering on-site.

Remember Plates and Silverware!

We are happy to provide compostable paper plates and plastic utensils for an additional $0.50 per serving. Also we can add a set of plastic serving utensils for $5 if needed.

What’s NOT Included

Did you forget something? Are you sure? ‘Cus an awful lot of people are going to show up for this party and you don’t want to fall flat on your face.  Here’s a list of some of the items that we are NOT able to provide but which you may want to have at your event:

  • Beverages, ice and cups

  • Chairs, tables and tablecloths

  • Desserts and flowers

  • Eggs for the egg toss, Mariachi Band, Ferris Wheel!
